The Geisinger College’s School of Medicine and its Family Medicine Interest Group are hosting a free, medical student-led walk on Saturday, March 22, at 9 a.m. Participants will gather at the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail, Olive Street Trailhead in Scranton. Should it rain, the event will be relocated to the Mall at Steamtown.

The walk is designed for attendees to benefit from both physical activity and health education. It will start with a brief discussion on a health topic, followed by an opportunity for participants to engage in conversation while walking alongside medical students, faculty, and staff from Geisinger School of Medicine.

"Walk with a Doc is an opportunity to build friendships, spend time in nature and receive free health education in a relaxed setting," according to the organizers.

Geisinger College of Health Sciences serves as the research and educational arm of the Geisinger family. The college aims to improve health outcomes for over one million people under its care. As part of Risant Health, Geisinger is committed to promoting value-based care practices.
