Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver has announced that Montour County will receive over $750,000 in state grants. These funds are allocated through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account Program. The program utilizes gaming revenue from casinos to support projects that serve public interests, community improvements, and economic development.
Culver stated, "The state works as a financial partner to help counties and municipalities fund important projects without increasing the burden on local taxpayers." She emphasized the collaboration between different government levels to bring essential projects to local communities.
The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency within the Department of Community and Economic Development. It oversees numerous programs aimed at fostering economic growth and enhancing community infrastructure across Pennsylvania.
