Census Bureau: 82.3 percent of people in Columbia County were old enough to vote in 2020

Of the 65,390 citizens living in Columbia County in 2020, 53,838 were old enough to vote as of March 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 28,252 of those people were female and 25,586 were male.

An agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System, the Census Bureau is responsible for compiling statistical facts about the American people, places and economy. Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2021 will be released later this year.
