Two grants from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), totaling $2 million, have been allocated to projects in Montour County. This announcement was made by Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver and Representative Michael Stender.
Senator Culver expressed her satisfaction with the funding, stating, "I am happy to see this significant amount of state dollars coming to Montour County. This funding will enable local businesses to make essential upgrades that would otherwise be unattainable."
Representative Stender also commented on the development, saying, "I’m thrilled to see this funding returning to our district. These projects will enhance the accessibility and safety of both facilities for the benefit of local residents."
The RACP is managed by the Office of Budget and supports the acquisition and construction of projects aimed at regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvements. Projects under RACP must have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact and contribute significantly to employment levels, tax revenues, or other economic activities.
