State Representative Michael Stender has announced over $2.7 million in state grants for projects in the 108th Legislative District, covering Montour and Northumberland counties. The funding is aimed at supporting various community and school district initiatives.

The Danville Municipal Authority will receive $350,000 to replace a water main, while Lewis Township is allocated $209,068 for the Old State Road bridge replacement project. Mahoning Township will use $95,929 to purchase police cameras.

Milton Area School District is set to receive $800,000 for replacing Milton Middle School’s HVAC system. Milton Borough will obtain $100,000 for new public works equipment. Montour County is granted two separate funds: $113,544 for upgrades to the Main Fair Community building in Limestone Township and $200,000 for an HVAC renovation at the Danville Area Community Center.

Riverside Borough will use its $250,000 grant to replace small diameter sanitary sewers. Shikellamy School District receives $400,000 for a roof replacement at Oaklyn Elementary School. Sunbury City is awarded two grants: $225,000 for repairs on Department of Public Works facilities and another $400,000 through the Sunbury City Municipal Authority for flood control improvements.

Warrior Run School District has been allocated $100,000 for safety upgrades at Warrior Run Junior/Senior High School. Watsontown Borough will spend its grant of $268,988 on emergency responder radios as part of the Warrior Run Consolidated Fire Service Cooperative.

“I am incredibly grateful to see these grant dollars coming back to our community,” stated Stender. “Improvements are essential for our communities to continue flourishing... This funding will significantly reduce that burden without placing it on the shoulders of our taxpayers.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved these grants as part of its role in managing Pennsylvania's economic growth programs and investments.
