Geisinger Health System has appointed Megan Brosious as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer. Terry Gilliland, M.D., Geisinger's president and CEO, expressed confidence in Brosious' abilities, stating, "Megan has shown expertise, knowledge and strong leadership in various roles throughout her 20-year career at Geisinger."

Brosious previously served as the chief administrative officer for Geisinger's Central Region. Her responsibilities included overseeing operations at several facilities such as Geisinger Medical Center and Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital. Under her leadership, these facilities received significant recognition, including the Joint Commission/American Heart Association Comprehensive Heart Attack Center Certification for Geisinger Medical Center.

In addition to operational achievements, Brosious played a key role in expanding behavioral health access through the construction of two inpatient hospitals in Moosic and Danville. In 2024, she was recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review on their list of “110 rural hospital and health system CEOs to know.”

Reflecting on her appointment, Brosious stated, “I’m fortunate to have worked along many dedicated professionals and community partners throughout my career at Geisinger to better the health of our neighbors.” She holds a Master of Health Administration from Pennsylvania State University.
