Borough of Mifflinburg issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.
The Borough has a water main break on Lime Ridge Road. In order to make the repair, water will be shut-off for a few hours. Customers in the vicinity will be without water during this work until the repair can be made. The result of the repair will require a boil water advisory to these affected customers due to the loss of positive pressure in the water main due to the work. When the work is completed, the water main will be thoroughly flushed and bacteria samples will be taken to confirm proper disinfection of the water system. Affected residents will be notified when the boil water advisory is lifted. We will be required to take 2 samples on consecutive days in order to lift the advisory. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this work.
