HARRISBURG – Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) and Sen. The Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School will benefit from $80,000 in funding to expand and improve access to first-class equipment and educational advantages for their students.

"I'm happy to see these dollars make their way back to Columbia County," said Leadbeter. "These resources are valuable as they provide a solid foundation for young people who are entering adulthood and seeking family-sustaining jobs. This will be another factor contributing to our conservative values of hard work and determination, which benefits the local businesses that drive our community."

Culver added, "These dollars are an investment in Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School, and the students are preparing to become productive citizens in our local economy. The hands-on skills and training provided by career and technical centers help students prepare to enter the workforce and obtain good-paying jobs. Graduates from these programs are able to fill in-demand jobs and earn family sustaining wages."

The Career and Technical Education Grants Program aims to support career and technical schools across Pennsylvania. With more than 80 schools offering approved classes and hands-on learning programs, students are equipped with the necessary skills to succeed in the workforce.

The announcement of the grant funding is a positive development for Columbia County and its educational institutions. The investment in the Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School will provide students with the resources they need to excel in their chosen fields and contribute to the local economy.

This funding is part of a larger effort to promote career and technical education in the state. By investing in these programs, Pennsylvania is ensuring that students have the opportunity to gain valuable skills and secure well-paying jobs. It aligns with the state's commitment to supporting the growth of local businesses and fostering a strong workforce.

Leadbeter and Culver's announcement highlights the importance of career and technical education in preparing students for the workforce. By providing funding to schools like the Columbia-Montour Area Vocational Technical School, students are given the tools they need to succeed and thrive in their chosen career paths.

The grant funding will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the students of Columbia County. With access to first-class equipment and educational advantages, they will be well-prepared to enter the workforce and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
