Wentling and Policy Committee to hold hearing on rural Pennsylvania strategies

Rep. Parke Wentling and the House Republican Policy Committee Deputy Chairman Dallas Kephart announced on Mar. 26 that they will host a hearing titled “Strengthening Rural Pennsylvania” to discuss ways to keep rural communities affordable for residents and businesses.

The event aims to address challenges facing rural areas in Pennsylvania, focusing on strategies that could help these communities remain viable places to live, work, and grow.

The hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the Workforce Training Center located across from Penn-Northwest. A livestream of the proceedings is planned, subject to technical availability.

Testifiers set to speak include Rod Wilt, executive director of Penn-Northwest Development Corporation; David George, president and CEO of Joy Cone Company; Scott Ziance, partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP; Jake Rickert from Penn-Northwest Development Corporation; Jim Landino of JCL Development; Mark Longietti from the City of Hermitage; Tom Roskos from Buhl Park; Mike Kotyk from Mercer County Regional Council of Governments; and Jordan Batt from Baughman Family Community Center/Buhl Community Recreation Center.
