Rep. Robert Leadbeter has revealed that Bloomsburg will receive a $118,900 grant to develop a new boat launch facility at the confluence of Fishing Creek and the Susquehanna River in Columbia County. The development plan includes a motorized and nonmotorized launch ramp, paved parking, and an access road and path.

Leadbeter expressed his support for the initiative by stating, “Protecting freedoms and personal rights are important to me. Fishing and boating are great ways to maintain and grow conservative traditions and values. I’m pleased to announce this funding for the young people, hardworking families, seniors, and veterans who call Columbia County home.”

State Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver emphasized the value of Columbia County's natural resources, saying, "Our area is blessed to have these beautiful waterways. This project will ensure local residents continue to have access to these waterways and the recreational opportunities they provide."

The funding originates from the Boating Facility Grant program, backed primarily by boat registration fees, the state motorboat fuels tax, and, if applicable, restricted revenue accounts.
