State Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver and State Representative Michael Stender have announced the establishment of a hotline for residents to report loose minks in Rockefeller Township. This follows the release of thousands of minks from a local farm.

The Northumberland County Emergency Management Agency, along with the county chief clerk and county commissioners, has set up this phone line. Residents can call 570-988-4217 if they find a mink on their property.

Residents who manage to catch a mink should take it to Sunbury Animal Hospital located at 3920 State Route 890, Sunbury. If a dead mink is found, it should be reported to the Pennsylvania Game Commission at either 833-742-4868 (833-PGC-HUNT) or 833-742-9453 (833-PGC-WILD).

Authorities warn that live minks can be dangerous and may bite if approached. It is advised not to attempt capturing them without proper traps.

Sean Moll is available for media inquiries at 717-783-0192.
