Rep. Michael Stender (R-Northumberland/Montour) and Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-Columbia/Luzerne/Montour/Northumberland/Snyder) have revealed the allocation of more than $900,000 in Multimodal Transportation Funding through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA. Projects that will benefit from this funding include sidewalk replacements along Paradise Street in the Borough of Turbotville, the construction of turning lanes and the installation of a traffic signal along the State Route 45 corridor in West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County by Montandon Development Group LLC, and improvements to the Danville airport by the Northumberland Montour Joint Airport Authority.
Representative Michael Stender expressed his satisfaction with the funding allocation, stating, "I’m pleased to see funding support for our local road and airport projects, emphasizing job creation and public safety improvement." Similarly, Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver highlighted the importance of the state grant dollars in supporting these projects without adding financial strain on local taxpayers, saying, “These state grant dollars will help pay to repair and pave these three roads without further burdening local taxpayers.”
