State Rep. Michael Stender (R-Northumberland/Montour) is organizing a Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment and Retention seminar to address the need for attracting and retaining volunteer fire and EMS members. The seminar, which will take place on Monday, Dec. 11, at Northumberland Borough Hall, aims to provide municipal leaders, fire chiefs, and EMS administrators with valuable insights and best practices in this area.

Stender, who is a career and volunteer firefighter himself, is encouraging anyone interested in volunteering with their local fire service organizations to attend the seminar.
