Full-Time Parking Meter Attendant/Clerk

Borough of Lewisburg issued  the following announcement on May 26.

The Borough of Lewisburg is accepting applications for a full-time Parking Meter Attendant/Clerk.  This employee serves as the Borough’s Parking Enforcement Officer and is responsible for all aspects of parking enforcement in our metered spaces and municipal parking lots.  

The employee will typically work 40 hours per week on a Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday schedule as determined by the Borough Manager.  The anticipated employee starting date for this position is Monday, July 18, 2022.  Applications can be obtained from the Borough Office, 55 South Fifth Street, Lewisburg, PA  17837.  Previous parking meter enforcement or law enforcement experience is preferred, but not required.  Experience working in the public sector or municipal government is a plus.  

Position requires the ability to follow written/oral instructions, perform a variety of manual tasks associated with parking enforcement and coin collection, walking up to eight (8) miles per day on enforcement rounds often under adverse weather conditions, pushing a 150 – 200 pound coin collection cart over sidewalks and roadways, and representing the Borough in court appearances associated with parking meter violations.  A valid driver’s license is required.  This is a full-time position with benefits as defined by a union contract.  

Wages during the 90-day probationary period are $17.95/hour per the union contract.  Upon successful completion of the probationary period, wages will be $23.05/hour in 2022.  Applications will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, June 17, 2022.
