Cost of college went up for all students at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

In-state tuition and fees rose 4.4 percent for 2018-19 at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $10,958 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $458 more than the $10,500 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 107.9 percent more than residents this year, or $22,782. Their price tag grew 3.6 percent from $21,980 in 2017-18.

About 92 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. And about 8 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 1,003 students received grants or scholarships totaling $6 million and 1,463 students took out student loans totaling more than $12.2 million.

Including all undergraduates (8,909), 4,778 students used grants or scholarships totaling $28.7 million, and 6,149 students took out $38.9 million in federal student loans.
