Pope Emeritus, Benedict XVI, lays in state at the Vatican. Recently, a brother in Christ shared a personal story of his about an encounter he had with future Holy Father while visiting Rome, when he was a graduate student at the University of Notre Dame.  Below is a snippet from his encounter.

When he was Cardinal Ratzinger , he was once asked by a young Notre Dame graduate student if there was only one way to God. He responded “there are as many ways to God as there are people.”  Now there is some brilliant wisdom for all of us to ponder!
