With the deadline for the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) on December 7 approaching, seniors still have time to consider enrolling in a Medicare Advantage plan for 2026. These plans offer additional coverage not included in traditional Medicare, such as vision, dental, and prescription drug benefits.
Geisinger Gold has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as one of Pennsylvania’s top Medicare Advantage plans. The plan provides access to a network of more than 30,000 doctors, 180 hospitals, and 3,000 pharmacies. Additional features include wellness programs, prescription discounts, financial assistance options, and Silver Circle membership—a free program for people aged 55 and older that encourages physical, emotional, and social well-being.
The Geisinger Gold Medicare Advantage plans received a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the 2026 Star Ratings program. The CMS evaluates these plans annually based on criteria such as clinical outcomes, preventive care services, prescription drug coverage, and customer service.
“Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system.”
Geisinger is hosting information sessions at various locations to help seniors learn more about their options. Interested individuals can sign up at go.geisinger.org/seminar.
According to Geisinger’s organizational overview, it serves about 1.2 million people across central and northeastern Pennsylvania through its nonprofit health system established in 1915. It also runs an educational institution training over 500 medical professionals annually while conducting more than 1,400 clinical research studies each year. Geisinger employs more than 27,000 people—including approximately 1,800 physicians—and contributes an estimated $16.8 billion economic impact within Pennsylvania each year.
In addition to its longstanding regional presence in healthcare delivery and education efforts throughout Pennsylvania communities—both urban and rural—Geisinger joined Risant Health in 2024 with the aim of expanding value-based care nationally.
Geisinger Gold Medicare Advantage HMO, PPO, and HMO D-SNP plans are offered by Geisinger Health Plan/Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company/Geisinger Quality Options Inc., all part of Geisinger’s integrated healthcare system under Risant Health’s parent organization structure.
