Geisinger announced on April 1 the opening of a new ConvenientCare walk-in clinic in Schuylkill County, located at 300 Hollywood Blvd. in Orwigsburg. The facility aims to provide quick medical care for community members without the need for an appointment.

The new clinic is designed to offer urgent care services to adults and children aged one year or older, with staffing by advanced practitioner providers, two certified registered nurse practitioners, and licensed medical staff. It operates weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and weekends from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., accepting last walk-in patients up to fifteen minutes before closing.

According to Geisinger, ConvenientCare clinics allow patients faster access compared to routine office visits but do not replace primary care providers. Services offered include treatment for allergies, minor cuts requiring stitches, insect bites and tick removal, infections such as ear or urinary tract infections, skin rashes, sprains and strains among other conditions. Patients can reserve their spot online at Geisinger.org/urgent.

In addition to the urgent care services now available at Orwigsburg, the office also provides family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, laboratory services and pharmacy options for local residents. This latest opening follows Geisinger’s recent announcement of plans to expand its cancer center in Pottsville.

Founded in 1915 by Abigail Geisinger as a nonprofit health system serving central and northeastern Pennsylvania communities both urban and rural, Geisinger reports more than $8 billion in annual revenues across its network of ten hospital campuses and numerous outpatient sites. The organization employs over 27,000 people statewide including approximately 1,800 physicians and is considered one of Pennsylvania’s largest employers.
