Geisinger College of Health Sciences is set to host a free public lecture featuring Michael Greger, M.D., a physician and author known for his work on nutrition. The event, titled “How Not to Die,” will take place on Tuesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Geisinger School of Medicine in Scranton.
The lecture is part of the Geisinger Preventive Medicine Lecture Series, which aims to provide community members with information about preventive health and lifestyle strategies. Dr. Greger, who founded NutritionFacts.org, will discuss how dietary and lifestyle changes can help prevent and treat major causes of death in the United States. He will also share examples from global populations that experience lower rates of diseases such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
“This lecture offers a unique opportunity for the community to learn actionable steps for healthier living directly from cutting-edge research,” said Robert W. Naismith, PhD, clinical professor in the department of medical education.
