Geisinger College of Health Sciences is organizing a free seminar on long-term care planning this July. The event will feature experts from Colbert & Grebas, P.C., a leading elder law firm in Pennsylvania.

The seminar, titled “Long-Term Care Planning – Why Is It Important,” is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, at 5 p.m. It will take place at Geisinger College of Health Sciences located at 525 Pine St., Scranton. The session aims to cover topics such as financial planning, Medicaid eligibility, estate recovery, and common myths about paying for care. Attendees are expected to gain insights into safeguarding their assets and making informed decisions regarding care needs.

Registration is required for participation and can be completed at go.geisinger.edu/estate.

Brenda Colbert and Kevin Grebas, both certified Elder Law Attorneys, will guide attendees through practical steps to protect their families, finances, and futures with thoughtful legal planning. Colbert emphasized the importance of these seminars by stating: “These seminars are designed to provide clear, practical guidance on topics that are often misunderstood or overlooked. We want to empower people to make informed decisions for themselves and their loved ones.”

Geisinger College of Health Sciences focuses on educating future healthcare leaders by integrating innovation and purpose. The college offers various programs including a research institute, graduate medical education, schools of medicine, graduate education and nursing programs.
