Geisinger Health Plan and Geisinger Indemnity Insurance Company, collectively known as GHP, have received a 4.5 out of 5 rating in the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Medicare Health Plan Ratings for 2025. This rating applies to both Geisinger Gold and Geisinger Gold Secure Rx (HMO D-SNP), as well as Geisinger Gold Preferred plans, including Geisinger Gold Preferred Complete RX (PPO) and Geisinger Gold Preferred Advantage (PPO).

The NCQA Medicare Health Plan Ratings are based on data collected in 2024 and assess almost a thousand plans nationwide using measures in three categories: patient experience, prevention and population health, and treatment. The ratings use a scale from zero to five stars.
GHP achieved a 4.5-star rating in the Diabetes category—the highest among Medicare plans in Pennsylvania—and received a full 5 out of 5 stars for Blood Pressure Control for Diabetes. These were the only perfect scores awarded for this measure among Medicare plans in Pennsylvania.
Geisinger’s Medicare coverage includes more than 95,000 members out of its total membership of over half a million.
NCQA is an independent nonprofit focused on healthcare quality improvement through accreditation and certification programs. Its HEDIS tool is widely used across healthcare organizations.
Geisinger serves about 1.2 million people in central and northeastern Pennsylvania through various facilities, including ten hospital campuses. The system employs over 27,000 people statewide and contributes significantly to Pennsylvania’s economy each year.
