Geisinger has acquired the Bobby Rahal Automotive Group property in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. The purchase became effective on February 17 and adds a significant parcel of land adjacent to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital along Electric Avenue.

AJ Hartsock, associate vice president of operations at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital, commented on the acquisition: “While we don’t have many formal plans in place yet, this property opens the door to future opportunities for our patients and teams. In the immediate term, the space will provide much needed additional parking, helping ease daily access to the hospital.”

The new property is expected to help improve access and convenience for patients, visitors, and staff by increasing available parking near the hospital campus. Geisinger stated that it values its partnership with Bobby Rahal Automotive Group during this process and appreciated their cooperation in ensuring a smooth transition.

Geisinger is a nonprofit health system serving 1.2 million people across central and northeastern Pennsylvania. The organization operates 163 care sites including 10 hospital campuses and manages an annual revenue exceeding $8 billion. It employs more than 27,000 people statewide and recently joined Risant Health in 2024 to support value-based care initiatives nationwide.
