Geisinger Graduate Medical Education (GME) and the Danville Business Alliance are set to host the third annual New Resident Welcome fair on Mill Street, scheduled for Monday, June 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. This event aims to introduce new residents and fellows to life in Danville, with over 60 local businesses, organizations, and restaurants participating.

To facilitate the event, Mill Street will be closed between Route 11 and West Mahoning Street from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on June 16. The fair is open not only to new and current residents but also to their families and the community at large.

Stephanie M. Jones, C-TAGME GME manager of clinical education operations, expressed appreciation for local vendors’ support: “Thanks to our vendors and businesses, our residents always feel warmly received. It’s a wonderful welcome to the community.”

This year marks a significant intake for Geisinger GME as they welcome 176 new residents. An additional group of 59 residents and fellows will join later in the year.
